Unable to protect Windows Server 2008 SP2 SQL Cluster (4039009)

The core pulls the cluster metadata using the dynamic WMI class 'MSCluster_ClusterSharedVolume class'. Since this was implemented on Windows Server 2008R2 and newer operating systems, this query fails when it is ran on a Windows Server 2008, the Core fails to obtain this metadata and this results in errors when attempting to protect the cluster. The patch fix simply removes the request to the cluster to get the dynamic WMI class.

Attempting to protect the cluster as a standalone machine yields: The cluster is found on the specified hostname. Please use the "Protect Cluster" button to protect the cluster. 

• Patches are provided as is for the specific build listed.
• Active support is required to download a patch. If not already logged in @ https://support.quest.com, you will be prompted to do so before you may download.
• If you have an existing patch, open a service request with Support, to request a cumulative patch. Otherwise the previous patch will be over written.
• Follow best practice to install MSI patches per KB How to apply updates to product software.

Work Around:

1. Update the Core to the newest release: Rapid Recovery - Download Software
2. Update the agent software on all cluster nodes to one of the following builds
   • 6.1.1 
   • 6.1.3
3. Download and install the patch compatible with the agent software version on all cluster nodes
   • 6.1.1 P-2074
   • 6.1.3 P-2365
4. Reboot all cluster nodes
5. Attempt to protect the cluster again
