How to Deploy Agent Software -
Description
Using the Deployment Agent Software Wizard, you can deploy the Rapid Recovery Agent software to single Windows machines, or simultaneously to multiple Windows machines. The machines can be part of an Active Directory domain, vCenter or ESX(i) virtual host, or they can be already protected by the local Rapid Recovery Core, as in the case of a Rapid Recovery Agent software upgrade. You also have the option to manually deploy the software to machines that are not necessarily associated with a specific domain or host.

Prerequisites
Before you begin the procedure you will need to have logon credentials for the type of deployment you are running:
- Active Directory: Host and domain administrator credentials to access the Active Directory of your domain controller.
- vCenter / ESX(i): Host and host administrator credentials and machine credentials with local administrator rights.
- Manually: Host names and local administrator credentials.
Steps:
- Open the Core Console, click the Protect drop-down menu, and then click Deploy Agent Software.
- The Deploy Agent Software Wizard opens
- Connection page: Select how you wish to select machines to deploy Agent software to, and click Next:
- Active Directory: You will connect to and choose Windows machine listed in your Active Directory.
NOTE: This will list every machine in your AD. - vCenter / ESX(i): You will connect to and choose Windows machines hosted in your vCenter.
- Local Core: Choose machines already protected on the local Core.
NOTE: This is your best option for upgrading Agents currently protected in your Core. Does not require any credentials as they are already authenticated and paired to the Core. - Manually: Manually list as many machines as you wish.
NOTE: This is your best option for upgrading Agents on other domains or workgroups.
- Active Directory: You will connect to and choose Windows machine listed in your Active Directory.
- Machines page: select the machines you wish to protect and if you want to machines to reboot after installation. For machines listed by Active Directory or vCenter / ESX(i) click Next. For machines listed by Local Core or Manually, click Finish.
- Warnings page (Active Directory only): Displays and warning the Core may have regarding the machines chosen. If no adjustments are needed, click Finish.
- Adjustments page (vCenter / ESX(i) only): You will need to add credentials with local administrator rights for each machine, click Finish.
