The .blksnap folder appears to consume an inordinate amount of space.
The AppAssure/Rapid Recovery Linux agent requires 15% of free space on each partition. This marks an increase from previous builds, which required 5% of free space.
When snapshots are taken on a Linux agent, the .blksnap folder takes that image and stores it in a datastore contained within the volume. When AppAssure/Rapid Recovery takes a snapshot, the data is loaded into memory. If there is an insufficient amount of memory, the data is temporarily dumped into this storage folder, thus the need for at least 15% of free space on the partition.
The .blksnap folder reduces the I/O necessary to snap the entire drive each time a backup is taken. There are certain instances in which the amount of data being snapped is small enough that it will not get sent to the .blksnap folder.
Please do not delete the .blksnap folder or any data contained within it, as this could cause issues with snapshots and the integrity of the data on the disk.
