Downgrading vRanger to a previous version or restoring a vRanger database from a backup if rolling back to a previous version of vranger.
Assuming that there is a backup of the vRanger database. It is recommended to backup the vRanger database regularly. The vRanger Database should ALWAYS be backed up before upgrading to the next version.
To do this please follow KB 89003.
Downgrade from 6.0.1 to 6.0
If going from vRanger 6.0.1 to vRanger 6.0 nothing is changed in the database
1) Uninstall vRanger 6.0.1. When prompted to perform a Full uninstall, select NO - that will leave vRanger database intact.
2) Run this command against vRanger DB. Use MS SQL Management Studio if necessary.
USE vRangerPro
UPDATE [ConfigurationOption] SET [Value] = '6.0.0.0' WHERE [Name] = 'LastUpgradedVersion'
3) Run the full installation package of vRanger 6.0 and follow the prompts.
Downgrade from 6.0 to 5.5 – 5.2
If going from vRanger 6.0 to vRanger 5.X , the database will have to be restored from the previous backup. Have the 5.x vRanger license handy.
1) Uninstall vRanger 6.0. When prompted if this will be a FULL uninstall, select NO - that will leave vRanger database intact.
2) Run the full installation package of vRanger 5.X and follow the prompts.
3) Restore the Database using step 2 in KB 95666 and follow the rest of the KB
4) Re-add the 5.X license in the vRanger GUI.
Note: Any changes made to vRanger after this backup was taken will not be restored.
