Determine if there are any items connected with the label. Determine if the label may have "Associated Items," "SMART" labels, etc.
- Log into the appliance with an ADMINISTRATIVE ROLE.
- Go to: HOME | Label Management | LABELS and locate the label that you wish to delete.
- [left click] on the NAME of the label to enter the "Label Details" page.
- On the "Label Details" page, determine if there are any items in the "Manage Associated Labels." If there are items, remove them.
- SAVE the Label Details after items were removed. (note: this action directs the view back to the Label Management page and the label will need to be located once again to continue)
- Review the "Labeled Items" area and note if there are any other items connected to the label (i.e. Smart Labels, etc.) and remove them.
If items were removed from the label, then Go to: HOME | Label Management | LABELS and locate the label that you wish to delete, [check] the box next to the label name that is to be deleted.
Go to the CHOOSE ACTION [drop down menu] and select DELETE, then CONFIRM "Yes" (or "No" if the label is not to be deleted at this time) to determine if the label deletes.
~ If the label fails to delete and the error remains, perform this additional check to remove associated items from the label that may not be easily visible ~
- Log into the appliance with an ADMINISTRATIVE ROLE (if logged out)
- Go to: HOME | Label Management | LABELS and locate the label that you wish to delete
- Look to the right and locate the "Patch" column or other field that shows a numerical value next to the filter (aka funnel)
- [click] on the numerical value on the row, corresponding to the label that is to be deleted, and this will load the "Catalog" page displaying all of the items that may be "associated" with this label.
- [check] the box(es) next to the items that are associated with this label. [*TIP* If you [check] the uppermost box above the top row, it will select ALL of the items at once]
- Go to CHOOSE ACTION [drop down menu] and select REMOVE LABELS
- In the pop-up window [click] on the trash can icon for the labels you wish to remove, then click REMOVE LABELS on the pop-up window and SAVE. The label should be removed from the associated item.
Verify that you can delete the label
- Go to: HOME | Label Management | LABELS and locate the label that you wish to delete.
- [check] the box next to the name of the label that you wish to delete
- Go to: CHOOSE ACTION [drop down menu] and select DELETE and select an answer to the "YES/NO" confirmation
~ the label should be deleted
If the same error occurs, repeat the previous steps to confirm that nothing is associated with this label. It may have multiple items connected to it that may need to be disconnected.
