Example of a Managed Installation Using Alternate Download Location on MacOS (4311556)

Application: Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard

Prerequisite: The following information is assuming that the following files have been created:

install.xml, uninstall.xml, and the application.xml.override files

Full Command Line Install:

sudo

/Volumes/Adobe/Setup.app/Contents/MacOS/Setup --mode=silent

--deploymentFile=/Volumes/Adobe/deployment/install.xml

Full Command Line Uninstall:

sudo

/Volumes/Adobe/Setup.app/Contents/MacOS/Setup --mode=silent

--deploymentFile=/Volumes/Adobe/deployment/uninstall.xml

Note: when the KACE SMAappliance pushes the .dmg file, it is mounted at

/Volumes/filename.dmg

Steps that needs to be done on the K1000 appliance side:

1. Create a dummy Adobe.dmg file and attach it to the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard Software Item.

2. Here are the settings on the Managed installation Alternate Download Location parameters:

Alternate Download Location: \\Server\Share\File.dmg
Alternate Checksum: Generate checksum on the target OS.

Alternate Download User: domain\user (access to alternate download location)

Alternate Download Password: password for above user
