After disabling the Off Network Remote Management feature (ONRM), Expert Assist clients attempt to connect to the Internet Gateway Server. The C:\Program Files\Quest\ExpertAssist\gw.log file contains many communication errors.

The entries in the log correctly reflect the fact that the Internet Gateway Server cannot be located. However, the service is not behaving as designed since it should not attempt to communicate with the gateway server if the ONRM feature is disabled. This issue has been assigned defect number DAMS-3304.
WORKAROUND:
The Expert Assist client service relies on the RM HTTP router service in order to communicate with the Internet Gateway Service. Stopping (and disabling) the RM HTTP router Service will prevent the remote management client from attempting to communicate unnecessarily with the Internet Gateway Server Service until such time as this issue is resolved. It is not necessary to perform this workaround if the additional traffic generated from the clients is not problematic. Automating the process of both stopping (and disabling), the RM HTTP router Service, on all clients, can be performed by the script. Instructions on how to automate this process are as follows:
STATUS:
This issue is under investigation and will be solved in a future release.
