About Toad Edge®
Toad Edge® is a database management application that allows you to perform database administration tasks with ease.
Toad Edge® allows you to:
- Connect to your databases, view, explore and edit database structure, database objects and properties
- Manage database objects, easily add, edit or drop objects in Object Explorer
- Obtain detailed information about your databases
- Manage data stored in your database, add, edit or remove records
- Write complex SQL code comfortably in Worksheet

New features of Toad Edge
In Toad Edge® 2.9, the following new features were implemented:
General features
Import improvement
- Introduced columns mapping configuration between source and destination columns while importing CSV data.
Sign In/Up flow improvement
- Improved Sign In/Up flow for better user experience.
New connection dialog improvement
Users now have the ability to configure the driver within the new connection dialog as well
Database features
Support for MySQL 8.1
- Toad Edge now supports connecting with MySQL 8.1.
Support for MariaDB 11.0,11.1
- Toad Edge now supports connecting with MariaDB 11.0,11.1.
Support for MySQL Amazon Aurora
- Toad Edge now supports connecting with MySQL Amazon Aurora environment.
Support for PostgreSQL RDS
- Toad Edge now supports connecting with PostgreSQL Amazon Relational Database Service environment.
Amazon Redshift features
Switch database support
- Redshift will now support the switch database feature
Session view support
- Session viewer has been added in Redshift
Auto commit support
- Redshift will now support auto committing
Explain plan support
- Users will now be able to execute an explain plan of their query in Redshift
Object explorer improvements
- Object explorer for Redshift will now support materialized views, views, constraints, users, groups, roles

- Database switching is now available in Redshift
- Sessions view is now available in Redshift
- Redshift platform will now support AutoCommit
- Redshift platform will now support Explain Plan
- Users now have the capability to map source and destination columns when importing CSV data to meet their specific requirements
- Improved loading of tables in object explorer for PostgreSQL platfroms
- Official version support introduced for:
- MySQL 8.1
- MariaDB 11
- Amazon Aurora (MySQL Compatible)
- Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL.
- Improved Sign-in/Sign-up flow for better UX
- Users now have the ability to configure the driver while creating new connection
