Teams & Groups Migration Recreating Conversation History Links When there are changes to the target domain due to a domain move, changes to user UPNs, aliases etc., the link to the archived file in private chats that are migrated to the target tenant will not work. To recreate the link in the migrated chat, the New Recreate Conversation History Link Task wizard is now available.

Module ID Description
Account Migration 489129 A new option Map to new account has been added to the Mapping File step of the New Account Mapping from File Task wizard along with templates for the CSV file. With this option, you can map a source account to a new user or group account specified in the CSV file. During migration, the attributes of the target account specified in the CSV will be used to create the new account and all other attributes and permissions will be copied from the source account.

New Account states have also been added to track the mapping progression: Mapped, Mapping, Mapping Failed, and Mapping Stopped.

Account Migration 496409 The option Specify a username for the following operations has been changed to Specify the UserPrincipalName of an active user account in the Configure Connection wizard. You can access this wizard from the Dashboard of the Accounts and User Data migration workspace.
Teams & Groups Migration 503348 The new column Mapped to Different SharePoint site Url in the Teams List View indicates whether or not the team's SharePoint site is mapped to a different url in the target tenant.
Teams & Groups Migration 504189 Skip private channels during provisioning and migration is a new option in the Project Configuration wizard for Teams. When you select this option, you can prevent the provisioning of and migration of private channels. However, if private channels are already provisioned, this setting will be ignored and private channel content will be migrated.

The option Migrate Litigation Hold Settings has been moved to the Migration Settings step of the New Mail Migration Task wizard. This option is no longer dependent on the Mail Flow settings of the wizard.

Mail Migration 498396 For each Mail Migration task, the maximum number of mailboxes that can be processed by the task is limited to 1000. Please contact Quest Technical Support if larger lists are required in a single task.
Teams & Groups Migration 372769 The new option Migrate Bot Messages in the Migration Options step of the New Teams Migration Task wizard, lets you skip or migrate bot messages in channel conversations.
Teams & Groups Migration 462295 When teams are provisioned on the target tenant, some scenarios like team renaming, multi-geo and others, will automatically trigger one or more SharePoint mapping tasks.

Quest Operations and Quest Support have procedures in place to monitor the health of the system and ensure any degradation of the service is promptly identified and resolved. On Demand Migration relies on Microsoft Azure infrastructure and as such is subject to the possible disruption of the related services.

NOTE:

If OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, or Office are not installed on the workstation, these applications will be skipped and will not impact any other applications present during the reconfiguration.

Quest On Demand is a Software as a Service (SaaS) application where application software is hosted in the cloud and made available to users through quest-on-demand.com.

Use of this software is governed by the Software Transaction Agreement found at www.quest.com/legal/sta.aspx and the Data Processing Addendum at www.quest.com/legal/dpa.aspx. This software does not require an activation or license key to operate.

You can sign in to On Demand as a Guest user and review the solutions that the product offers. As a Guest user, you can add your Azure AD tenant and look for problems that can be solved by On Demand. To sign in as a Guest user, go to quest-on-demand.com and click Continue as Guest.

To start a trial subscription

NOTE: You can use the product free during a 30-day trial period for a limited number of users allowed to be migrated

  1. Open https://www.quest.com/products/on-demand-migration/.

The product licensing is based on the number of unique source accounts processed by the migration tasks. The licenses are only consumed once the migration task is started.

The following object types do not consume any license,

  • Group mailboxes
  • AD Groups
  • Contacts
  • Exchange resource mailboxes
  • public folder mailboxes
  • room mailboxes or equipment mailboxes
  • shared mailboxes
  • Guest accounts
  • Computer accounts

NOTE: The license is permanently assigned to the source account may only be used for one migration project, and you can use this account in any number of tasks (migration, re-matching, etc.) from one environment to another environment.

The matching task will result in the following error in case the number of users in the task exceeds the number of available licenses.

There are no data limits for OneDrive, SharePoint, mailbox and public folders content migration.
