When I start Toad Data Point (Formerly Toad for Data Analysts), I can only connect with 'Direct' tab and not the 'Oracle Client' tab. The 'Oracle Client' tab is grayd out.
WORKAROUND 1:
Verify that the Instant Client is set up correctly. The client files dirctory should be the first value in the PATH value string in Window's Environmental Variables.
WORKAROUND 2:
Install a full Oracle client.
Note: For Windows 7 on some cases, even if a valid Oracle 32-bit client is installed, you might have to right-click on the Toad icon and select the "Run as Administrator" option in order for the 'Oracle Client' tab to show. Rights issue could prevent Toad from seeing the Oracle registry information necessary to light up the 'Oracle Client' tab.
