Failed to login to SQL Instance message indicates that the attempt to establish a connection to the specified SQL Server instance using ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) has failed. This failure occurs during the execution of the driver connect functionality, which is responsible for connecting with the SQL Server instance.

Failed to login to SQL Instance message indicates that the connection attempt to the SQL Server instance is unsuccessful. The code provides detailed logging to help diagnose the issue. The reasons for failure could be due to invalid credentials, network issues, or SQL Server configuration problems. Follow the troubleshooting steps to identify and resolve the root cause of the failure.
Unable to determine if this is an AlwaysOn Availability Cluster or not message displays after the SQL Server Plug-in is unable to query using ODBC APIs the SQL Server instance to determine whether AlwaysOn Availability Groups are enabled.
The message indicates that the Plug-in for SQL Server query to check the AlwaysOn property is not successful. When the query is not successful, the check for the AlwaysOn property is deferred and applied using SQL Server queries. The obatined results are recorded in the NetVault Database.
Alternatively, the AlwaysOn property can be configured in the Plug-in for SQL Server. The configured value takes preference.

The message The Windows service for instance %s on host %s appears not to be running, unable to check for AlwaysOn support indicates that the SQL Server instance's Windows service might be currently not running or not accessible using ODBC queries. As a result, the Plug-in for SQL Server cannot query the SQL Server instance for the AlwaysOn property. The message is informational and serves as a diagnostic indicator rather than an error. It highlights a condition that might require attention but does not necessarily stop the program's execution or functionality.
