The following is a list of enhancements implemented in NetVault Plug-in for SQL Server 14.0

NV-4796

Added Support for clusterless read-scale SQL Server Always On Availability Groups (AG)

SQL Server 2017 and later introduces the ability to configure AGs without Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC). This configuration could be used for scenarios where read-scale capabilities are needed or where WSFC is not available. Clusterless AGs do not have automated failover capabilities, as a result requiring manual failover.

NV-4685, NV-4727

Added a Do Not Backup Read-Only Databases option for backup jobs that lets you exclude read-only databases from a backup job. This option does not apply to Copy-Only backups.

VDI Copy-only backup job runs on the secondary replica, when the prefer secondary algorithm is selected and secondary replica is available.

DNPSS-652

In a AlwaysOn cluster, a backup operation initiates backup slave on every node in the virtual client. If the plug-in does not start in one of the nodes, the entire backup fails, even if there is nothing to be backedup on that node.

If the plug-in does not start in one of the nodes, the job ends with Job Died Status. In case the plug-in starts in other nodes, the other nodes can complete the job.
