Modifying members of pivot categories

When a pivot category has no members, it is disabled. Analyzers do not generate metrics for disabled categories, even if the category is selected as an interaction pivot. Select members to enable a category. For more information, see Managing pivots.

NOTE: To generate metrics by pivot, you need to create analyzers that update metrics. For more information, see Working with metrics.
To modify the members of a pivot category:

On the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Analysis.

Click Pivots.

In the Pivots dashboard, expand the category you want to modify.

Click Add.

Add and remove category members as necessary and click OK.
The new list of members appears in the category table.

Selecting aliases from a discovery list

When you run the Discovery tool from the Domain Rules view, it creates a list of potential domain rules based on aliases. After you stop the process, you can select the rules you want to use.
To discover aliases and add domain rules:

In the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Analysis.

Click Advanced Options, then expand Domain Rules.

Click Discover.
The Domain Rules Discovery dialog box appears, and begins building domain rules based on aliases in use in the monitored environment.
Optional—use the Discovery tool’s Search box to focus results.

When you see the rules that you want to add, click Stop.

Select the check boxes beside the rules you want to add.

Click Add.

Adding, copying, and editing domain rules

To add, copy, or edit a domain rule:

On the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Analysis.

Click Advanced Options, then expand Domain Rules.

Do one of the following:

To add a new domain rule, click Add.
•
To copy an existing rule, click its Copy icon.
•
To edit an existing rule, click its Edit icon.

In the dialog box, complete the options. For help with options, see Defining domain rules.

Click Save.

Adding, copying, and editing large hit details

To add, copy, or edit a large hit detail policy:

On the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Analysis.

Click Advanced Options, then expand Large Hit Details.

Do one of the following:
•
To add a new large hit detail policy, click Add.
•
To copy an existing policy, click its Copy icon.
•
To edit an existing rule, click its Edit icon.

In the dialog box, complete the options. For help with options, see Defining large hit details.

Ensure that the value for Maximum Hit Detail Size in the Traffic Analysis Options view is high enough to accommodate the size of this hit detail.

Click Save.
