Adding and editing HSM private keys

An HSM provides private key encryption, decryption, storage, and authentication. When integrated with an HSM appliance, Foglight can use the keys within the HSM server to decrypt HTTPS traffic, without having to store the keys locally.
To add an HSM private key:

On the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Capture > Private Keys.

Do one of the following:
•
To load a new HSM private key, click Add HSM Key.
•
To edit an existing HSM private key, click its Edit icon.

In the dialog box, complete the options. For help with options, see Defining HSM private keys.

Click Save.
The new key appears in the Private Keys table.

If your web server supports multiple domains from the same IP address and TCP port number, specify the domain that requires this key.

In the Domains column, click the monitored IP address’ Click to add domains link.

In the Domains dialog box, click Add.

Specify the domain name, and click Save.
The domain appears in the table.

Repeat to add any other domains that require this key.

Click Save.
The dialog box closes. The domains appear in the Private Keys table.

Exporting keys using Microsoft Management Console

You can use Microsoft Management Console to load certificates and export them as encrypted private key files.

IMPORTANT: Make a note of the filename and password you specify when exporting a certificate. You will need to select the file and enter the password when adding the private key in Foglight.
To load certificates into Microsoft Management Console:

On the taskbar, click Start and then click Run.

Type mmc and click OK.
The Microsoft Management Console opens.

From the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.
The Add or Remove Snap-ins dialog box appears.

From the Available Standalone Snap-in list, select Certificates, and click Add.
The Certificate Snap-in wizard appears.

Select Computer account, and click Next.

Select Local computer, and click Finish.
The wizard closes.

In the Add or Remove Snap-ins dialog box, click OK.
The dialog box closes, and the certificates folder is loaded into the console.
To export a certificate for use as a private key:

In the Console Root panel, expand Certificates and click Personal > Certificates.
The right pane displays a list of certificates.

Right-click a certificate and click Select All Tasks > Export.
The Certificate Export Wizard appears.

Click Next.

Select the Yes, export the private key option, and click Next.

Ensure that the Include all certificates in the certification path if possible and Enable strong protection check boxes are cleared, and click Next.

Specify a password, and click Next.

Specify a fully-qualified file name for the encrypted private key file, and click Next.

Review the export settings. If you need to change anything, click Back to return to the appropriate screen.

Click Finish to export the certificate as an encrypted private key file.

Adding or editing web services

To add or edit a web service:
1
On the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Capture > Web Services.

Do one of the following:
•
To add a new web service, click Add.
•
To edit an existing web service, click its Edit icon.

In the dialog box, complete the options. For help with options, see Defining web services and SOAP operations.

Click Save.

Importing WSDL files to define web services

If your WSDL file contains some other prefix than the standard wsdl:message, you need to specify it.
To import a WSDL file:
1
On the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click APM > Configure > Traffic Capture > Web Services.

Click Import.

In the dialog box, navigate to and select the WSDL file. Click Confirm.

If the WSDL file uses a non-standard prefix, specify the prefix.

Click Import.
The Add Web Service dialog box opens, displaying the web service name and all the SOAP operations extracted from the file.

You can add or remove operations, if required.
7
Click Save.
