RedHat/CentOS server with XFS volumes hangs while running a backup job

While running a backup job with the Linux Rapid Recovery agent on servers running RedHat / Centos version 7.3, or newer, with XFS volumes and significant I/O, the server might hang due to unprocessed filesystem commits.

The issue has been identified as defect RR-111516. The defect will be evaluated by our Product Team for inclusion in a future release of Rapid Recovery.
 
A list of "Resolved Issues" is published in the product Release Notes accompanying new releases that can be referenced to identify if a fix for this defect has been implemented. Product Release Notes are available in the "Release Notes and Guides” area of our Support Portal

Workaround 1: 
Protecting multiple machines on a VMware vCenter/ESX(i) virtual host using Agentless Protection (4035409) (quest.com)

Workaround 2:
For physical protected servers, please run the backup while the disk I/O on the XFS volumes is near zero.
