After configuring SMTP settings in the UI, Core | Configuration | Settings | SMTP Server, sending a test email may result with the following error:
2-step verification is not setup on your mail server. After you configure 2-step verification, use the Application password generated during 2-step verification as the password for the account you want to use for SMTP notification.
This KB will discuss 2-step verification for Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook.
To enable 2-step verification for Gmail, please complete the following steps:
Use the application password in the Core UI SMTP settings dialogue box when prompted.
NOTE: The Application password needs to be changed to your current Gmail password
To enable 2-step verification for Outlook, please complete the following steps:
Use the application password in the Core UI SMTP settings dialogue box when prompted.
NOTE: The Application password needs to be changed to your current Outlook password
To enable 2-step verification for Yahoo, please complete the following steps:
NOTE: noreply@localhost.com can’t be set as the ‘From’ field value for yahoo SMTP server. When sending an email from a Yahoo account (smtp.mail.yahoo.com), you should use a [reply and from] Yahoo email address.
Use the application password in the Core UI SMTP settings dialogue box when prompted.
NOTE: The Application password needs to be changed to your current Outlook password
