Description:
Netvault launches and manages various processes which all work together using the shared memory pool of Windows, Linux, and Mac OS x etc: Windows allocates memory for the shared memory pool dynamically, so requires no configuration in the OS. Linux / Mac OSX shared memory pool is configured via the sysctl.conf file. The defaults are typically small. Netvault will require increased shared memory to work efficiently. See solutions on Shared Memory for your OS.
After you make changes to the Shared Memory Pool take advantage of the resource as follows
Transfer buffers
Right click the drive and choose configure.
Select the performance tab. The default is 257k and is the smallest buffer size allowed for 32K block size. 32x8+1.
On Physical Drives, make that setting 65537
On Virtual Drives, make that setting 8197
click ok.
Process Table Settings
Open the nvconfigurator
Select the Process Manager Tab
Memory reserved for the Process Table (default is 2000 for Windows or 500 for others)

If you will be running more than 30 jobs at the same time, contact customer support for help increasing this value beyond 200.
Select the "General" tab.
Make the "Minimum network send (and receive) rhe same as the Maximum network send and receive, so 16384 in all 4 fields.
Click the Apply button (writes it to the config file)
Select OK
Stop /start the Netvault Process Manager (service) for these settings to take effect.
