VMware vCenter Servers have a unique ID number that is generated upon install. We ended up having the same number generated on two of our vCenter servers. VMware instructed us to change the number on one of the servers, and now we have two vCenter servers with the same name showing up in vFoglight. I can figure out how to delete the stale object, but I think that I would like to merge the data first.
No changes to vFoglight, but I see 2 entries of the VC where unique ID number changed under Data Management dashboard ( Dashboards | Management Servers -> Servers -> Data Management -> Vmware -> Virtual Centers )
I want to merge the data from the VC which stopped actively collecting data anymore to the VC that's upto date collecting data
Do we have any groovy to merge data first & then delete stale object?
There is currently no method to merge the data of the 2 VC's.
We can only delete the stale object, by selecting the Delete option under actions for the VC object that stopped collecting data anymore.
