**Note: This procedure will require a reboot of your K1000 appliance.
To enable SSH from the Administrative Console
To enable SSH, you will need to be logged into the K10000 Appliance Administrative Console with Admin credentials or an in assigned Admin Role.
- Click K1000 Settings | Control Panel | Security Settings.
- Click Edit Mode.
- Check the box for "SSH Enabled".
- After you check the box, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Set Security Options".
- A security pop up will appear to warn you of the reboot.
- Click OK and allow your appliance to restart.
If it appears that you are not able to enable SSH, please check your credentials access.
To enable SSH from the Console (5.4 and higher)
Connect directly to the Console of the physical or virtual appliance either through a terminal connection to K1000 Appliance or by accessing the Console by connecting a key board and monitor to the appliance.
- Enter the user name konfig and the password konfig.
- Arrow key down to the SSH check box.
- Use the right arrow key to change the field to an X.
- Arrow key down to Save and press enter.
The K1000 Appliance will restart.
