What's new on SMA version 14.1

KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA) is designed to automate device management, application deployment, patching, asset management, and Service Desk ticket management.

This release of the KACE Systems Management Appliance includes two major features, one related to agent and the other to mail services.

The minimum version for upgrade is 14.0.334. Please see the upgrade path if on an earlier version.

Minimum Hypervisors supported:

• ESXi version 8.0, more information here.
• Hyper-V needs to run on Windows Server 2019 as a minimum.
• Nutanix AOS 5.20.1.1 (LTS) or later

Note that it's possible to run earlier versions, these are only checked upon initial deployment of the Virtual Machine.

Note that upgrade changes are final, if in doubt, consider creating a Customer Testing Environment. For any feedback on this new release, feel free to contact support.

• KACE Remote Desktop powered by Splashtop is a high-performance remote desktop software that provides secure and efficient remote access to any enrolled device from any other device. It features mandatory device authentication, with an option for two-factor authentication to enhance security. • Support for Office365 as outbound mail provider for service desk, via Microsoft Graph REST API. This can be setup from the Queue's Outbound Email Settings.

Resolved issues

• Upgraded FreeBSD to 14.0-RELEASE-p8, which resolves: CVE-2024-6387 FreeBSD SSH Remote Code Execution Vulnerability.
• Unable to create a new manual device when locale is set to German
• Service Desk left menu word Tickets shows with lowercase 't' when locale set to French.
