QAS | Archive Shuttle database showing "Recovery Pending". -
Descrizione
Archive Shuttle Database database failed and not able to connect, Archive Shuttle is reporting as "Database upgrade in progress" and not loading.
There are not Upgrade was performed.
Using SSMS to check the database status it shows (Recovery Pending) sample screenshot below

Causa
Not an issue from Archive Shuttle but SQL related.
When a SQL Server database shows "Recovery Pending" status, it means SQL Server knows the database was not shut down cleanly and cannot start the recovery process- Missing or inaccessible .mdf or .ldf files (if it is still accessible or having permissions)
- Disk space issues/disk health ( as in full or volume is offline)
- Corrupt transaction log
- Any error log in event viewer
- Any recent SQL server update (windows update)
**In the most possible scenario Disk space would be the first one that might cause the issue.

Risoluzione
Each of the possible solutions (please reach out to Microsoft Support to better advice)
- Missing or inaccessible .mdf or .ldf files (if it is still accessible or having permissions)
- Possible Resolution : verify the file or mdf accesibility
- Disk space issues/disk health ( as in full or volume is offline)
- Possible Resolution : verify the server storage is sufficient.
- Corrupt transaction log
- reachout to SQL admin or Microsoft support for repair or recover from backup if any
- Any error log in event viewer
- fix any error reported including access denied to the database
- Any recent SQL server update (windows update)
- verify SQL version and if rollback is possible.
- Missing or inaccessible .mdf or .ldf files (if it is still accessible or having permissions)
