Description

It is observed that random backups fail with the following error "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: input".
Cause

One possibility is that the vCenter service has crashed. This can be confirmed by investigating the event viewer of the vCenter server machine.
Résolution

- From the vSphere client, check for idle snapshots on the virtual machines that have failed to backup.
- If there are open snapshots, consolidate the VM by created a non memory snapshot and then deleting all snapshots from that VM.
- Run the backup job again.
