We are conducting a domain migration for a company where half of the users are working with Local User accounts and non-domain joined devices. The Active Directory agent that changes the device's domain also ensures that data stored in the computer profile is moved accordingly. This requires the Source and Target account to be matched. If the account is Local to the device, can this be matched? If not, is there a supported method of migrating the Computer domain to the Target and the User to a Target Domain account, if the computer is not on the Source Domain and the Source User is local to the device?
Migration of the separated workgroup-joined machines is not supported by ODMAD. The product must read, verify and match user accounts as well as read machine-related information from the source entity. Such entity can be either on-premises Active Directory, or if machine is Entra-joined, then it must be an EntraID tenant.
