Description

What is the required format of the CSV file when adding external guest accounts to a collection.
Cause

The # in the external guest UPN is not accepted correctly unless enclosed in double quotes.

first.last_domain.com#EXT#@tenant.onmicrosoft.com
Résolution
The CSV file should be edited in Notepad so that the double quotes will be retained. The following is the format that should be used for adding guest accounts to collections via CSV file.

userPrincipalName
"first.last_domain.com#EXT#@tenant.onmicrosoft.com"

Once the file has been prepared, follow the steps below to populate the collection.
1. Create a new collection
2. Select the new collection in the upper-right of the portal, under your login
3. Select Dashboard in the upper-left of the main pane
4. Click the FILL FROM FILE option
5. Use the file created using the formatting above
6. Click Populate
