How to use the KACE SMA Email configuration report:
- Download the Kbin found below
- Go to Settings | Appliance Updates
- Locate 'Manually Update' and then select Choose File
- After selecting the kbin, select Update
If Samba is enabled:
- A file named sma_email_report.tgz can be reviewed by accessing your client share (ex. \\hostname\client)
(Note Samba can be enabled in Settings|Security Settings)
If Samba is disabled:
- A file named sma_email_report.tgz will be created in the backups directory which can be accessed via FTP.
(Note FTP must be enabled in Settings|Security Settings)
FTP:
Using a command prompt:
- Open a cmd prompt and change to a directory this user has permissions to access (eg: c:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop - where USERNAME is the actual name of the user OR another example could be c:\Users\USERNAME\Downloads)
- Once in an accessible directory, type: ftp SMA (where SMA is the hostname or IP of this SMA)
- Type "kbftp" for the username and click Enter
- Type "getbxf" for the password and click Enter
NOTE: The password above is the default password if you enabled Make FTP writable in the Security Settings of the SMA and did not enter a password. If this default password does not work it is because a new password was added.
Click Settings|Security Settings. Type the new password in New FTP user password box and scroll down and click Save and Restart Services.
This action will restart the services on the SMA!
- Type "type binary" and click Enter
- Type "get sma_email_report.tgz" (Note that both files above were successfully transferred to the directory used in step 1 of these instructions)
- Type "quit"
Using an FTP Client:
- Hostname: IP or Hostname of the K1000
- Username: kbftp
- Password: getbxf
NOTE: The password above is the default password if you enabled Make FTP writable in the Security Settings of the SMA and did not enter a password. If this default password does not work it is because a new password was added.
Click Settings | Security Settings. Type the new password in New FTP user password box and scroll down and
Click Save and Restart Services.
This action will restart the services on the SMA!
- Port: Not necessary (may be requested by some FTP clients)
- Locate the sma_email_report.tgz file and transfer it to a local or network location
NEW!!! As of version 13.0 this report can be run from the web interphase by accessing:
- Single Org appliance: Settings => Support | Run Diagnostic Utilities
- Multi Org appliance: System UI => Settings => Support | Run Diagnostic Utilities
