Description

Snapshot transfer for Agents are failing and in the Agent AppRecoveryPM.log the following error is present:

ERROR 2014-11-10T00:10:37 [3] - Replay.Agent.Implementation.Transfer.TransferDataChannel (RemoteEndPoint=192.168.1.8:61831)
Sending of volume data at byte offset 0x62229e000, byte length 0x12000 failed
System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> Replay.Common.Contracts.Win32Api.Win32ApiFailedException: I/O operation - The semaphore timeout period has expired
at Replay.Common.Implementation.Win32Api.NativeIOReader.EndTransmitFile(IAsyncResult asyncResult)
at Replay.Common.Implementation.Win32Api.NativeIOReader.<>c__DisplayClass4.b__3(IAsyncResult ar)

The Core error states that a network connection has been dropped.
Cause

Outdated NIC drivers will cause performance issues with data transfers and a timeout will be met.
Résolution

Verify that the NIC drivers on the Agent machine and the Core are up to date with the manufacturer's latest release.
If the agent machine is a VMware virtual machine, check to see whether the NIC is an E1000. This will show in MSINFO as a Intel(R) 82574L Gigabit Network Connection. Replace this with a VMXNET3 NIC and this will probably resolve the issue.
