Description
The below error may occur during all types of discoveries:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

Cause
Enterprise Reporter is configured to connect to the SQL server based on netbios name and not FQDN. -
Resolution
On the Enterprise Reporter server open the Database Wizard and chose Select/Upgrade. Go through the wizard and specify the FQDN for the SQL Server name (servername.domain.com) and finish the wizard. This may require a restart of the node service.
