During the Upgrade from 5.3 to 5.4, the Wizard rollbacks the installation process during the database upgrade process with the next error message:
"Quest Archive Manager setup wizard ended prematurely because of an error."
The install.log captures the next behavior:
A space on the SQL Server name in the connection string in the AM configuration console breaks the upgrade process.
- Remove any space in the name of the Database in the SQL connection string in the AM Configuration Console.
1. Open the AM configuration console as Administrator.
2. On the right, click on the AM SQL string name next to the gear icon to open the Connection String properties.
3. On the Server name, remove any space or verify that the name or SQL Alias has been set correctly.
4. Click OK an then Apply to save the settings.
5. Run the installer again and now the upgrade process of the database should be completed correctly.
