ESMWorker crashes when using MAPI over HTTP (4267064)

The Microsoft Patch KB3114816 has a known issue with our ESMWorker process causing it to crash when using MAPI over HTTP.

How to determine the issue:

If match below 2 condition, this is the mso crash issue.

1. The ESM.wlog have error message:

System.Exception: Worker for 'EnricoC' (MailboxID 28) terminated unexpectedly with exit code 255, state DEAD
at Quest.AM.MAPI.MAPIFolderCrawler.Threads.MailBoxThread.ThreadFunc(Object o)
2018-08-20 19:02:42,120 [80] ERROR MailBoxThread - {{6b824eb1-640a-4b52-975c-03839ac6223c}} Error processing mailbox: Worker for 'EnricoC' (MailboxID 28) finished with 1 error(s) and 0 warning(s).

For more information, examine the log file at
C:\Quest\ArchiveManager\ESM\20180820\0\MailboxID-28-20180820.wlog

2. Go to Event Viewer → Windows Logs → Application, There is an application error, the detail as below:

How to determine if install the update package?

Check the mso.dll version and if it is equal or higher 15.0.4805.1001, the update package had been installed.

The DLL file location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE15"

Do not install KB3114816 or any later update patches for Outlook. This will cause the issue.

If you do, please remove all updates up to and including KB3114816
