Appearance

Use the Appearance settings in the Options dialog to set the language option for published reports, as well as the font options for the text editor and for data grids.

To set or change the language option (for published reports)

  1. Select Options | General | Appearance.
  2. In the Language Setting section, select a language from the drop-down list.

    Note: The language setting applies only to generated reports. Reports are generated by selecting the Reports option in the results window in most modules.

  3. Click OK, and then close and restart SQL Optimizer.

    Note: The new language setting will not take effect until after SQL Optimizer is restarted.

To modify font settings (for text editor, data grids, and generated reports)

  1. Select Options | General | Appearance.
  2. In the Font Settings section, specify new font settings. Review the following for additional information:

    SQL Text Editor Select a new font family and font size from the lists. This setting is applied to all text editor windows.
    Other Data Select a new font family and font size from the lists. This setting is applied to all data, including analysis results, data grids, session names, and data in published reports.
    Restore Default Fonts Click to restore all font settings to the default settings.

Intelligence (Optimize SQL)

Use this page of the Options dialog to specify default optimization settings for SQL Rewrite. Settings specified through the Options dialog apply to new SQL Rewrite sessions.

Settings specified through the Current Session dialog override the global settings and apply to the current session only. See Optimize SQL Statements for more information.

To set intelligence options

  1. Click in the main menu.

  2. Select Optimize SQL | Optimizer | Intelligence.

  3. Select a predefined setting and Intelligence level or customize the settings. Review the following for additional information:

    Intelligence

    Select one of the following:

    • Custom Settings—Select this option if you want to customize the settings on the Optimization, Hints, and Quota options pages.
    • Predefined Settings—Select this option if you want to use a pre-defined setting. Then select a setting and specify an Intelligence Level.

      The setting and Intelligence Level you select determine the values on the Optimization, Hints, and Quota option pages.
