The Export/Import Utility Wizard cannot be used. When clicking finish to start the import or export in Import/Export Utility Wizard, this window opens, looking for the import/export executable. What is the utilty and where is it?
Toad cannot find import/export executables. Toad's Export/Import Utility Wizard works off of Oracles export/import tool. If Toad cannot find the Oracle exe to access the tool, it will prompt accordingly.
WORKAROUND 1:
If connected using a full Oracle client, find the imp.exe and/or exp.exe and direct Toad to the location of the executables. Use the prompt that comes up at the end of the Wizard, or go to View | Toad Options | Executables. In the list of Oracle utilities, specify the location for "import" and "export". Or use the "Auto Find" button on the far right to look for the exe's automatically.
If it can be found, it will fill out the path. The auto find is based off the currently connected Oracle client.
If the exe cannot be found, or is corrupted, the issue is on the Oracle end, and needs to be addressed by addressing the client.
WORKAROUND 2:
If connected using an Oracle instant client, this usually does not come with an exp.exe or an imp.exe tool. A full client needs to be installed also, for access to this tool. Use the prompt that comes up at the end of the Wizard, or go to View | Toad Options | Executables and browse button to look for the Oracle tool, imp.exe or exp.exe. Specify the location for "import" and "export" accordingly.
Even if you are using the Instant client to connect, the location of any existing imp.exe or exp.exe can be specified. The tool does not necesarily have to belong to the client currently connected.
