Able to connect outside of Toad using existing Oracle Client, but when trying to connect within Toad, the following error is received:
Cannot load OCI DLL: C:\app\\product\11.2.0\client_1\oci.dll
1) 64-bit Oracle Client is being used with Toad for Oracle 32-bit. Ensure the "bit" of Toad is the same as the Oracle Client.
2) The usual files in the BIN folder are somehow located in the Client_1 folder.
RESOLUTION 1:
Install 64-bit version of Toad for Oracle or uninstall the 64-bit version of Oracle client and download and install a 32-bit Oracle client. Please review the release notes of the version of Toad being used found at \product\11.2.0\client_1\" folder to the "C:\app\\product\11.2.0\client_1\BIN\" folder.
RESOLUTION 2:
Re-install the Oracle Client and ensure you right-click the installer file and choose 'Run as Administrator'.
