Set Alarm Thresholds

Alarm thresholds set an acceptable range of values for a statistic. Statistics that exceed the normal threshold raise an alarm.

To set alarm thresholds

  1. Click Configure | Alarms.

  2. Select connection to configure:
    • Select the connection name to set the alarm thresholds for an individual connection.
    • Select Default Settings to set the alarm thresholds for all connections.
  3. Select an alarm.
  4. Select Override the default settings for the alarm.
  5. Set the range of severities you want to apply to the alarm. Use the threshold bar or the severity table.

    Threshold bar

Move the mouse pointer over the threshold between two severities until it appears as a split-bar pointer.

Click and drag the mouse to move the threshold to a new position.

When you have completed the move, the change also appears in the severity table.

    Severity table

Click in the Start cell for each chosen severity.

Type the lower value for a required threshold range.

Ensure the start values for each range are consistent. A failure to do so may cause problems when alarms are raised.

Note: Not all alarms have thresholds.
