After using Find and Replace, text is appended to highlighted selection, rather than replacing it

If you have used the Find and Replace menu in the Editor of SQL Navigator, and a word is still highlighted to replace, and you press Esc to close the Find and Replace windows, the text is still highlighted black in the Editor, like the Find and Replace window is still open in the background. If you try to type something when the text is highlighted black, the key you press is appended to the text, rather than replacing it.
