How to backup, transfer, restore the SQL Navigator user settings profile i.e. from one SQL Navigator to another or from one PC to another or from an old computer to a new computer?
How to import settings when the 'Cancel' button is accidentally clicked during the initial startup of a SQL Navigator installation?
During a downloaded of SQL Navigator 6 when gradually deploying on all workstations, the Cancel button was accidentally hit.
The popup window which appears asked the question 'if you wish to import your settings from a previous version', no longer comes up, even after trying to uninstall and reinstall. Will it be possible to still import these settings from the previous version?
Follow the steps below to enable you transfer your user profile settings:
1. Close all SQL Navigator applications.
2. From the Windows Start menu, go to All Programs | Quest Software | SQL Navigator 7.x.
3. Open Tools | Profile Manager - this is a small utility outside the application itself.
4. Click “Backup User Profile”.
5. Follow all the self-explanatory steps.
You can then take this Backup file and use the “Restore User Profile” option of the “Profile Manager” on the computer where you want to restore the backup.
