The "Provider failure" error code 0x80041004 indicates a problem with the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service, often caused by a corrupted WMI repository, an incorrect software installation, or a system issue. To fix this, you can try restarting the WMI service, rebuilding the repository using winmgmt /resetrepository, or checking for corrupted system files.
Troubleshooting steps
Restart the WMI Service: Open the Services console, find "Windows Management Instrumentation," and restart it.
Rebuild the WMI Repository: Open Command Prompt as an administrator. Stop the WMI service with the command: net stop winmgmt. Run the command: winmgmt /resetrepository. Restart the WMI service: net start winmgmt. Reboot your computer.
Check for corrupted files: Use Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command: winmgmt /salvagerepository to attempt to repair the WMI repository without resetting it.
Temporarily disable security software: Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software to see if they are causing the conflict. If the issue is resolved, you may need to adjust the settings of your security software or reinstall it.
