Some features of Recovery Manager may not work properly. For example, restoring to a Personal Folders (.pst) file may fail; search may return incorrect results or no results.
This problem only shows up when Recovery Manager and Exchange Server are installed on the same computer.
Recovery Manager requires Microsoft Outlook. However, there exists a known issue when Outlook and Exchange Server coexist on the same computer in a production environment. Please refer to Microsoft KB266418 at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/266418.
RESOULUTION 1:
IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO USE THE EXCHANGE EMULATION FEATURE
Install Recovery Manager on the same computer with one of the following Exchange Server components only:
- Exchange System Management Tools
-OR-
- Exchange 5.5 Administrator
NOTE: Quest Support does not support installing Recovery Manager on the same computer with any other Exchange Server components.
RESOULUTION 2:
IF YOU ARE NOT PLANNING TO USE THE EXCHANGE EMULATION FEATURE
Install Recovery Manager on a computer where Exchange Server has never been installed.
