When running Recovery Manager for Exchange and Veritas Backup Exec 12.5 to restore a backup the Backup Exec Remote Agent crashes and becomes unresponsive.
The standard Microsoft Windows Error Reporting Dialogue is displayed.
For Backup Exec backups to be supported by Recovery Manager for Exchange 4.8 via direct access, the following scenarios have to be true:
Recovery Manager for Exchange supportsExchange emulation if:
- Backups were created with Backup Exec 11d, 12.0, or 12.5.
- The backed up Exchange Server version is Exchange Server 2007 or Exchange Server 2007 SP1.
- Recovery Manager computer runs a 64-bit edition of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server 2008.
- Recovery Manager computer runs the same or a later version of Windows as the backed up Exchange Server.
Ensure that the above mentioned scenarios are true:
- Backups created with Backup Exec 11d, 12.0, or 12.5.
- Backed up Exchange Server version is Exchange Server 2007 or Exchange Server 2007 SP1.
- Recovery Manager computer runs a 64-bit edition of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server 2008.
- Recovery Manager computer runs the same or a later version of Windows as the backed up Exchange Server.
Installing RMEX 4.8 on 64Bit Operating system resolves this issue.
