Toad was upgraded from version 8.6.1 to version 9.1. All settings were in place with the upgrade. In SQL Editor, if an Insert and Commit statement is executed using F5 or 'Execute as a Script' option, then Schema Browser does not show new data in table even after a Schema Browser Refresh.
Starting from version 9.0 and above, Toad has introduced a new Oracle | Transactions option: Execute Scripts in Toad Session. By default, this option is unchecked, resulting in the change of behavior of Commits from version 8.6.1. So, although all user settings are preserved in an upgrade, this behavior will be different after the upgrade, unless the above option is checked.
1. Select View | Toad Options.
2. From left side tree, select Oracle | Transactions.
3. On the right side pane, check "Execute Scripts in Toad Session" check box.
4. Select OK to close Options.
5. Open a new Editor window for change to take effect.
