How to reset the Foglight remote database user password if it has been forgotten? (4232181)

The Foglight remote database user password has been changed and the Foglight server can't log in to the database repository.

An error similar to the following was found in the FMS log file

Login failed for user 'foglight'. ClientConnectionId:05ee9716-d14f-4241-a544-55a0ae6f9563

How to change the password for an external Foglight repository database?

Foglight database user password has been changed.

Generate a hash of the new password using the keyman utility and manually replace the hash in the server.config file

1. In a command prompt or terminal session on the Foglight server, navigate to: $FOGLIGHT_HOME/bin
    
2. Run the command or shell script named keyman as in the following examples:
    

   Windows: keyman encpwd "my_new_password" foglight.defaultkey

   Unix/Linux: ./keyman.sh encpwd "my_new_password" foglight.defaultkey

     
3. Copy or save the hash key output from the command:
   Example: Encrypted Password: q01a78e18418825f9290ba2356b162f1049802d1fcab1eb856bb13ed48f035e28d8035988dbcc113f1e3147c1
      
4. Make a backup copy of the $FOGLIGHT_HOME/config/server.config file, then open the original for editing.
      
5. Replace the server.database.password value with the new hash key. Make sure to preserve the double quotes around the key.
       
6. Restart the Foglight server.

Note: There are a few special characters that are not supported. Some examples include:  ' " { } < > & @ ; \ / =
