When installing Collaboration Services an error is encountered after pressing Next when on the Service Account section of the installation.
However when clicking on the Test button the mailbox test passed sucessfully.
Specified account is not valid. The reasons can be the following:
1. Account does not exist.
2. Password was entered incorrectly.
3. Account does not have required privileges.
Please verify account name, password or supply another account.
The service account being specified is being denyed the ablility logon locally in a group policy.
Check the Local Security Policy on the system. Under Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment - Deny Logon Locally.
See if the service account you are trying to use is listed here or belongs to a group which is listed here.
If it is listed here please remove the account from this policy setting.
Once the account is allowed to log on locally you can complete the installation of Collaboration Services.
After installation is complete the account can be set back to Deny log on locally. This will not effect the running of the Collaboration Services service.
