The initial replication of virtual machine is successful but subsequent passes fail with "Error : 2319 RETRY timedout operation timed out [at timeout_thread:470]"
Re-hashing is a process where the disks are scanned in order to look for new blocks that need to be replicated.
This error triggers when re-hashing of the disks is being performed but the task takes longer than the default timeout configured in vRanger, this time is also affected by the 256 MB default block size configured.
This can also occur when using pre-seed as it will need to rehash the disks.
1. Make sure no jobs are running and close the vRanger UI.
2. Go to services.msc and stop the Quest vRanger services from top to bottom.
4. Using File Explorer go to the vRanger installation folder (C:\Program Files\Quest\vRanger) and make a copy of the file "Vizioncore.vRanger.Service.exe.config" as a backup and open it with an administrative notepad.
It's better to start with fresh replica as to not cause an extended rehash of disks after increasing the Replication Block Size. If the replica was deleted, the existing job can be re-used. If the replica still exists, it is recommended to create a new job and make sure to give the replica a different name.
