vRanger 6.1 installed on Windows 2012 R2 not supported -
Description
When vRanger 6.1 is installed on Windows 2012 R2 the following error is seen when doing a backup:
"Error: -1 - 5 [ main] metadata find_fast_cwd 3028 : WARNING : Could not compute FAST_CWD pointer . Please report this problem- to the public mailing list cygwin@cygwin.com" -
Cause
Windows 2012 R2 is not a supported operating system to install vRanger on. This has to do with the version of Cygwin that vRanger 6.1 comes with which is not compatible with Windows 2012 R2. -
Resolution
The following operating systems are supported for installation of vRanger:
Windows 2012 R2 will be supported as an OS vRanger can be installed on in vRanger 7.0.
