Verify SQL error "A RETURN statement with a return value cannot be used in this context"

Procedures which compile without error using the Execute SQL (F5) key, fail using the Verify SQL command button.

The Verify SQL always returns this error message:

SQL Server Database Error: A RETURN statement with a return value cannot be used in this context.

The issue does not occur in version 6.1
