After uninstalled a 3rd party application, Toad stopped working. On launch it would give a generic Windows "application has stopped working" error. Toad can be uninstalled, but it runs into the same type of error message during installation. After the error it notes that the installation has finished, and the shortcut is on the desktop. But when trying to launch from the shortcut, the same error occurs again.
The uninstall of the 3rd party application corrupted the .NET installation.
Check Window's Event Viewer for further error information that occurs during the install, and/or the attempt to launch Toad. It suggests and error in .NET and kernelbase.dll
Repair/reinstall .NET and reboot the computer. Then test the current installation. If needed, uninstall reinstall Toad again after fixing .NET.
