Copy/Move Database Wizard Error, "SQLServer Backward Compatibility package is not installed".

When using the Database | Task | Copy/Move tool in Toad, the following error message occurs:

"Copy/Move Database Wizard Error
The SQL Server Backward Compatibility package is not installed on this machine."

The SQL Server Backward Compatibility package is required to use the Copy/Move Database wizard. It is required on both the local and server end. 

Get the appropriate version of Microsoft's Feature Pack for your SQL Server database and install it on the local Toad end and the server end. 

• Verify the system requirements of the feature pack. If you have a 64-bit machine, then you would need the x64 package because the x86 package will not let you install and you will get the error that installation failed because it is not supported by your operating system. 

I.e. backwards compatibility package SQLServer2005_BC.msi (or SQLServer2005_BC_x64.msi for 64bit).

This may apply to various versions of Toad for SQL Servers. Verify the SQL Server Copy/Move requirements as Toad works off of SQL Server's feature. It may also need the DTS components installed on the server side.
