WORKAROUND:
Type server name in manually.
STATUS:
Waiting for Defect ID's TSY-438 and TSY-429 to be fixed in a future version of Toad for Sybase. TSY-438 is to support the use of Windows SQL.ini files and TSY-429 is to support the use of Unix SQL.ini files.
Note...
TSY-438 has already been implemented in Toad for Sybase beta 2.1, which can be downloaded from here. This version will read servers listed in a Windows SQL.ini file and display them in the connection window. If the issue is still occurring in the beta with a Windows Unix SQL.ini file, here are a couple of possible resolutions you can look into.
RESOLUTION #1:
Make sure the SQL.ini file is located in the %SYBASE%\ini folder.
RESOLUTION #2:
Make sure that the formatting of the SQL.ini does not include any extra lines within each entry and all the lines of the entry are all the way up against the left hand side. Multiple entries in the SQL.ini file should look something like...
[SYBABDB1]
master=abc,xyz,5000
query=abc,xyz,5000
[SYBABDB2]
master=def,sun,6000
query=def,sun,6000
RESOLUTION #3:
Make sure a Windows SQL.ini file is being used. Not a Unix SQL.ini file.
