Description
Getting error
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOB", line 1163
ORA-06512: at line 31v
when executing attached code in Toad 16.2.
If you comment any line of code with DBMS_OUTPUT it works fine.
Besides Line number: 31 provided in error doesn't match with the code as it has only 29 lines.
This works fine in 16.1 and previous. -
Cause
Bug.
Line # 31 does not refer to the user's code, it refers to our code which fetches the DBMS Output. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
1.Close Toad
2.Go to C:\users\[your user]\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\16.2\User Files
3.Open Toad.ini file
4.Add line below under [SETTINGS] in Toad.ini:
FetchDBMSOutputByLob=0
STATUSWaiting for fix in a future release of Toad for Oracle
