dbms_output to a file not correctly displayed in Automation Designer (4325672)

When executing a script in Automation Designer and sending output (using multiple dbms_output.put_line statements) to a file, the outcome is displayed in a single line (no carriage return or line feed) - see sample result.txt attached. Spooling out to a file within the script shows multiple lines but not the blank (empty) lines. This used to work in our previous version of Toad for Oracle prior to 11.1.6
