When using Schema Browser and selecting an object in the tree view - usually a synonym or view, it causes TOAD to display error message "ORA-00997: illegal use of LONG datatype" even though the object selected doesn't use the LONG dataype. The list of columns is then not populated, and the data grid filter is non-operative.
